Zebra, Zebra, & More Zebra!!!

Well, for those of you who don't know, I LOVE ZEBRA PRINT!!! So, this week, I designed my very own zebra newsletter!!! This was my first time designing my very own newsletter, and I LOVE IT!!! I also watched a great tutorial that helped me learn how to make my file editable, so guess what?!? It is now available in my stores!!! WOO HOO!!! Getting Ready!!!

Well, yesterday was my FIRST day back to school!!! :) It was bittersweet, but I did enjoy seeing all my teacher friends!! I sure was glad to get home to my little boy tonight though! :) I am SLOWLY getting my classroom organized, but I am super excited to see it all put together! We have Meet the Teacher on Monday night, and our students' first day is Wednesday! I am really excited to post pictures of my finished classroom!!! I hope everyone is doing well, and I will definitely be posting pictures soon! :) HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Just another manic Monday....

Well, it is that time of year again! I go back to school again on Thursday (insert moment of silence)...This is always a bittersweet time of year for me! I love teaching so much, and I love the beginning of a new school year, but I also love spending my whole summer with my 2 year old son Sully!!! So, this week begins my rush of emotions as I head back to my job that I love and leave my 2 year old at the babysitter again. How are you guys feeling about going back to school? Anyone else have these bittersweet feelings? I have to say, this has been the best summer I have had so far since I have been teaching! I have spent so much quality time with my family. It has been amazing! I have been having so much fun that I have not gotten into my classroom to really do anything like I had planned on! Oops!! I guess I will be working extra hard this week! :)

Look what I found!

So today I was at Cracker Barrel with my family after church. I LOVE their country store, and I LOVE browsing while waiting for a table! Y'all know my theme this year is everything ZEBRA! Look what I found in the old country store today for my students!!!

I LOVED this gum when I was little, but I didn't think they make it anymore! I am so EXCITED! I think my students will love it on the first day of school in their goody bag! :)

Back to School Purchases!

After being in my classroom yesterday for the first time, I came home and went on a little shopping spree! This is what I bought: 

Month by Month Phonics & Vocabulary

I LOVE this book! I used it several years ago when I taught 4th grade, but I can't find my old one! SO, I had to order a new one! :) 

Zebra Border!!!

I am so excited about my new classroom theme this year: ZEBRA!!! I couldn't find any zebra border at the local teacher store, so I went online and found this one! I am so excited about putting it up in my room. I am thinking maybe black paper and this border....OR bright colored paper and this border! I bought this from Teacher Storehouse! Go check them out! :) 

Giant Pixy Sticks!!!

I bought these to make Birthday Balloons for my kids! I saw this idea on Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits! Head on over to her blog to check it out! You add a balloon cutout to the top of the pixy stick, and you have a ready made birthday present for your students! I will post a picture of the finished product when I get them in and actually make them! :) 

So there it is, some of my back to school purchases! All of my other purchases have been mainly school supplies for my kids. These purchases are the ones that I am more excited about! :)

1) Baskets for my library: Well, I wish I could afford to buy the ones I LOVE from Really Good Stuff:

Ahh!!! I love these, but since I have already spent the majority of my teacher "allowance" on school supplies, I am hastily rummaging through every DOLLAR store in my area to find some good baskets! I think I have decided which ones I want: 

I am very excited to put my whole library together with my new labels!!! :) 

2) The Early Finisher Board: I absolutely LOVE this!!! I found it on TpT a few days ago, and I think it would be awesome to use in my classroom! It is early finisher activities for 40 WEEKS!!! Check it out here!

3) Superfun Back to School Activities: This is a compilation of all my favorite back to school activities that I do every year with my students! There are games and writing activities! :) Check it out here!

SC Blogger Meet-Up! :)

Here is some news from one of my bloggy friends, Hope King, about the SC Blogger Meet-Up!!! I'm so excited!!! :) If you are a blogger from SC, please join us!!! :)

I am so ridiculously excited to announce that we are planning a big ol’ Carolina meet-up…y’all! ;) And no…not just for bloggers…stalkers other teacher friends are welcome to join! :) We are planning on meeting at some delicious restaurant where we can gab for a few hours about all things school! Poor people won’t know what hit them! I better call ahead! ;) I can’t wait to meet everyone!! I have been to several meet-ups and they are always way too much fun and NEVER enough time! I am sure that this meet-up won’t let me down!

So, If you will be in the Columbia area on September 15, I would love to see you there! I know this is still 2 months away, and we are still in the beginning stages of planning, but I wanted to give you PA-LENTY of time to put it on your calendar! Time and location will be announced once we have a general idea of how many people to expect.

Crates & SUPERFUN Activities!

Hey guys! Well, I FINALLY FINISHED THEM!!! That's right! Here are my new crate seats!!! AHH!! Aren't they adorable?!?

I absolutely LOVE them!!! I am so excited to put them in my classroom next week! I made 4 total (2 purple, 2 white)! I hope my students love them as much as I do! What do you guys think? Have any of you already made these seats for your classroom too?!? What fabrics did you choose? 

I am also excited about one other project I have been working on! How many of you want to have a SUPERFUN year with your students?!? I am so excited to share my newest unit with you guys! I have been working really hard on my "SUPERFUN BACK TO SCHOOL ACTIVITIES" unit for the past 3 weeks!!! I am super proud of this unit because all of these activities are the activities that I use every year during the first week of school in my classroom!

Classroom Decorating Time!!

Hey friends! So, I have decided that this year, I am going to do all kinds of ZEBRA prints in my classroom! So you may be seeing LOTS of zebra themed items from me! :) I am SO EXCITED about this! I fell in love with the zebra prints when I was making my Classroom Library Sets (genre posters & labels)! Click HERE to check out my Zebra Classroom Library Set!!! 

So, tonight I am going to finish assembling my zebra crate seats! I can't wait to post a picture of them! I am also working on another project that one of my friends saw on Pinterest and created for her classroom! I will be working on it tonight too! :) Also, I wanted to give you a little preview of what I am working on right now! I am ALMOST finished with my "SUPERFUN BACK TO SCHOOL ACTIVITIES" set! :) This has been my favorite project I have ever created to date! It will include MEETO (a BINGO type get to know you game), Who are you? partner game, a 20 Questions game, a Beach Glyph activity, a Left-Right whole group game, 2 graphic organizers for students to write about their 3 goals for this school year, 8 different publishing pages for students to choose from, and a Self-Portrait project!!! These activities are all things I have done in my classroom in the past few years during the first few days of school! Here is the cover!!! I will be posting the whole set tomorrow so be on the lookout! :)

It's the PRODUCT SWAP!!!

Hey friends! Today is the big day! It is PRODUCT SWAP DAY!!! Woo Hoo! I have the pleasure today of reviewing a product from my great friend, Ms. Lili, from It's Always a Picnic in 4th Grade! 

Y'all, she is fabulous!!! She is a bilingual 4th grade teacher from Cancun, Mexico! She has been teaching for 6 years, and is also married with 2 kids! Please head on over and check out her blog by clicking on the picture above! 

So, today for the Product Swap, I am reviewing Ms. Lili's "I Have Fun Using Adjectives" mini-unit! 

First, I have to say, this may be called a mini-unit, but it is huge! It is an awesome way to teach your students all about adjectives and how and why they are used! The unit starts off with a beautiful anchor chart that describes how adjectives are words that are used to describe nouns. Then, your students will learn an A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E song about adjectives! 

Now, one of my absolute favorite tools to use in my classroom are GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS! This mini-unit is chock full of graphic organizers! Here are some examples below of the graphic organizers you will find in this unit for your students to practice using adjectives! 

Aren't those Graphic Organizers AWESOME!!! :) But wait friends!!! That is not all! Ms. Lili has included a noun/adjective sorting game in this mini-unit! AWESOME!!!

There is also ANOTHER game where students are each given a sentence and write the adjective and noun from the sentence on a chart. This could be done as a class or as a center activity! :) 

This awesome unit also includes a quiz and a very cute worksheet! To top it all off, the students will get to create and describe themselves at the end!
